How to play Word Scramble
Objective: Rearrange the six scrambled letters into the correct hidden word to score a point, then keep solving words back to back to push your saved best higher.
Every round hands you one six-letter word with its letters shuffled into a pool of tiles. Tap a pool tile and it drops into the next open slot in the answer row above. The tiles fill left to right in the order you tap them, so plan your sequence rather than grabbing letters at random. Each pool tile can be used once; after you place it, it greys out and cannot be tapped again until you remove it from the answer.
The word is checked automatically the moment all six slots are filled. There is no submit button. If the letters spell the target word, the slots turn green, you see a Correct message, your Solved count goes up by one, and a fresh scrambled word loads after a short pause. If the filled word is wrong, the slots turn red and you must tap letters to fix it. Nothing else happens on a wrong answer.
To correct a mistake, tap any letter sitting in the answer row and it returns to the pool, clearing the red state so you can try a different arrangement. The Clear button empties every slot at once if you want to start the word over. There is no timer, no life count, and no way to lose. A wrong guess just waits for you to rearrange the tiles until they match.
Three buttons sit below the pool. Hint places the single correct next letter for you into the current slot, which counts toward solving the word normally. Clear resets the answer row. Skip throws out the current word and loads a new one without touching your Solved score, so you can pass on a word you cannot see. Your best Solved streak is stored in your browser and shown as Best.
Tips and strategy
Every word is six letters
The answer row always has exactly six slots and the pool always holds six tiles. Knowing the length is fixed lets you scan for a six-letter word straight away instead of guessing how long the target might be.
Look for common endings
Many words in the pool end in -ER, -LE, or -ET, such as SILVER, CANDLE, and MAGNET. Spotting a likely ending first and placing those last tiles mentally narrows down what the opening letters must spell.
Anchor an unusual letter
A rare tile narrows the set of forty words fast. A Z can only come from PUZZLE, WIZARD, BREEZE, FROZEN, or ZIGZAG, and a J only ever means JUNGLE. Build outward from the odd letter instead of shuffling the common ones.
Skip costs you nothing
Skip loads a new word and leaves your Solved count untouched, so a word you cannot crack is not worth staring at. Pass on it, bank easier solves, and keep your run moving toward a higher Best.
Use Hint to break a stall
Hint drops the correct next letter into the open slot and still completes the word for a point. When you have the wrong arrangement locked in your head, one hint often reveals the pattern for the remaining tiles.
Frequently asked questions
How do I submit my answer?
You do not. The game checks the word automatically as soon as the sixth slot is filled. If it matches, the slots turn green and the next word loads; if not, they turn red and you rearrange the tiles. There is no submit or enter button anywhere on screen.
Can I lose word scramble or run out of time?
No. There is no timer, no lives, and no game over. A wrong arrangement simply shows a red row and waits for you to fix it. The only score is your Solved count, which rises each time you spell a word correctly and never drops.
Does using Hint reduce my score?
No. Hint places the correct next letter into the current slot and the word still counts as solved when finished, adding one to your Solved count. It carries no penalty in this game, so use it whenever an arrangement has you stuck.
What is the Best number?
Best is the highest Solved count your browser has recorded, saved locally so it survives closing the page. It updates whenever your current Solved count passes the old best. The data stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.
How many words are there?
The game draws from a fixed set of forty six-letter words, chosen at random each round, so repeats happen over a long session. Every scramble is also guaranteed to differ from the real word, so the tiles are never handed to you already in order.
What happens when I tap Skip?
Skip discards the current word and loads a new random one immediately. It does not add to or subtract from your Solved count, so skipping a hard word costs you nothing except the point you would have earned by solving it.
