About This Game

Play Water Sort Puzzle free online. Pour colored liquid between tubes until each tube is one color. Simple, satisfying, endless levels. No sign-up.

How to play Water Sort Puzzle

Objective: Win by sorting the colored liquid so every tube is either completely empty or filled with four segments of a single color.

Each tube holds four segments stacked bottom to top, and the board gives you one tube per color plus two spare empty tubes. Easy sorts four colors, Medium adds a fifth, and Hard a sixth, but the two empty tubes stay constant. Tap a tube to pick it up (it lifts and gets a cyan outline), then tap a second tube to pour. Tap the lifted tube again to cancel without moving anything.

A pour is only legal when the top segment of the tube you poured from matches the top segment of the destination, or the destination is empty. You also need room: a tube already holding four segments cannot receive more. When you pour, the game moves the whole matching run at once, up to whatever space the destination has left, so pouring three same-color segments onto one gap transfers just one and leaves two behind.

There is no timer, no move limit, and no way to lose. Undo steps back one pour at a time, up to fifty moves deep, so you can test a line and reverse it if it dead-ends. New Level deals a fresh randomized board, checked to be solvable first. The instant every tube is empty or holds four of one color, the level is solved, your Levels Cleared counter goes up, and a Next Level button appears.

Tips and strategy

Guard your two empties

You only ever get two empty tubes regardless of difficulty, so they are your entire workspace. Never dump a color into an empty tube unless you can see how you will finish gathering it, or you will strand yourself with no free space.

Pour onto matches first

Before spending an empty tube, look for a partial tube whose top segment matches what you want to move. Combining same-color runs onto existing stacks keeps both empties free and shrinks the board faster than splitting colors into blank tubes.

Runs move together

A pour transfers the entire run of same-color segments on top, limited only by the destination's remaining space. Stack matching segments into one tube first, then move all of them in a single tap instead of chasing them one segment at a time.

Undo is free

There is no move counter or penalty, and Undo remembers your last fifty pours. Try a risky sequence to see where it leads, and if it locks up your empties, step back and take a different route. Treat the board as a sandbox.

Frequently asked questions

How many colors are there on each difficulty?

Easy uses four colors, Medium five, and Hard six. Every color always appears as exactly four segments, and the board adds two empty tubes on top of the colored ones. So Easy gives six tubes total, Medium seven, and Hard eight, keeping the same two-tube buffer at every level.

Can I get stuck with no legal moves?

You can reach a jammed position where no pour helps, but you can never truly lose. Every generated board is verified solvable before you see it, and Undo lets you back out up to fifty pours. If a board frustrates you, New Level deals a fresh solvable layout at your current difficulty.

Does my progress save?

Your Levels Cleared total is stored in your browser's local storage, so it stays after you refresh or close the tab. It is tied to this device and browser only, not an account, so it will not follow you to another computer or a private window, and clearing site data resets it to zero.

Why did only part of my pour transfer?

A pour moves the top run of matching segments, but only as many as fit. If you pour a run of three onto a tube with one open slot, just one segment moves and two stay put. Free up more space in the destination first if you want the whole run to cross.
