How to play Stack Tower
Objective: Stack Tower has no finish line; you win by beating your own saved best height, stacking blocks one on another for as long as you can before a miss ends the run.
The tower starts with a single 140-pixel-wide base block in the middle of a 320-pixel field. A new block then slides left and right across the top on its own. Tap the play area or press Space to drop it onto the stack. Your score, labeled Height, adds one point for every block you land, and the run continues until you miss a drop entirely.
Each drop measures the horizontal overlap between the moving block and the one directly below. The overlapping part becomes your new block; the overhang is sliced off and gone for good. If there is no overlap, the drop fails and you see Game Over. Because every miss trims width and a narrow block can never grow back, sloppy early drops make every later drop harder, so aim for dead-center landings from the start.
The moving block speeds up as you climb: it starts at 2.4 pixels per frame and gains 0.08 for each point of height, capping at roughly 5.4 once you reach about 38 blocks tall. It bounces off both walls and reverses, so it is always crossing. The camera scrolls up past about seven blocks to keep the top in view. Your best height is stored in this browser, and tapping the Game Over screen retries with a fresh full-width base.
Tips and strategy
Center the base early
The first few drops set the width you keep all run. A block trimmed to 90 pixels never grows back, so nudge toward perfect center on drops one through five to preserve landing room for the harder blocks later.
Tap just before it lines up
The drop lands where the block sits the instant you tap, not where you aimed. Since it moves 2.4 to 5.4 pixels per frame, release a hair before the edges align to counter your own reaction delay.
Use the wall bounce
The block reverses direction off each wall. Timing your drop shortly after a bounce is more forgiving than catching it mid-sprint across the middle, giving you a cleaner read on where it will actually land.
Push past 38
Speed stops rising once your height hits about 38 blocks. Grind through the accelerating middle stretch and every drop afterward runs at the same top pace, so a steady rhythm can carry you a long way.
Frequently asked questions
How do I lose?
You lose the moment a dropped block has zero overlap with the block beneath it. The game checks the horizontal overlap, and if it is zero or negative the drop fails and Game Over appears with your final height. There are no lives, so one complete miss ends the run.
Does the tower get narrower as I play?
Yes. Every off-center drop slices off the overhang, and the new block keeps only the overlapping width. That width carries forward, so the tower can only stay the same or get thinner, never wider. This is why accurate early drops matter so much.
How do I drop a block?
Two options: tap or click the play area, or press the Space bar. Both drop the currently sliding block. On the idle or Game Over screen, the same tap or Space starts a new run. There are no other keys, buttons, or settings.
Is my tallest tower saved?
Your highest height is saved in this browser's local storage and shown as the Best number above the field. It persists between visits but stays on that one browser; it is not synced across devices or sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data resets it to zero.
