How to play Road Crossing
Objective: Guide your green circle from the safe bottom row to the green goal row at the top without a car hitting you, then repeat the crossing to build the highest score you can.
The board is eleven rows tall. The bottom row and the top row are green safe zones, and the nine rows between them carry traffic. Your green circle starts centered on the bottom row, and each hop moves you one row up or down, or 40 pixels left or right. Reach the green goal row at the top to score one crossing, after which you snap back to the start and a slightly faster round begins.
Use the arrow keys or WASD on desktop, the on-screen D-pad, or touch on a phone, where a swipe hops in that direction and a short tap hops upward. Cars fill rows one through nine. Even rows move right and odd rows move left, so adjacent lanes flow in opposite directions, and each lane holds two or three cars that wrap back to the far side when they leave the screen.
You crash only when a car overlaps you in the exact lane you are standing on, so the two green rows are always safe. There are no lives and no timer: one hit ends the run with a Splat. Your score counts completed crossings and your best is saved. Every crossing then rebuilds all nine lanes faster, adding about 0.25 pixels per frame to each car.
Tips and strategy
Read the alternating flow
Even rows push right and odd rows push left, so neighboring lanes always move opposite ways. A gap in one lane often sits beside oncoming traffic in the next, so plan two lanes ahead instead of reacting one hop at a time.
Pick your entry column
Slide left and right 40 pixels at a time on the safe bottom row before you climb. Lining up with a gap in the first lane means your opening hop does not drop you straight into a car.
Cross in one clean burst
Every row between the two green zones carries cars, so there is no safe stopping point in the middle. Once you leave the start, keep moving through gaps rather than parking in a lane where the next car is already closing on you.
Respect the speed ramp
Each crossing adds roughly a quarter pixel per frame to every lane. A rhythm that clears the road on your first crossing will be too slow by your fifth, so sharpen your reactions as your Crossings count climbs.
Frequently asked questions
How do you win Road Crossing?
There is no final win screen; the game is endless. Each time you move your circle from the bottom green row to the top green goal row you score one crossing and restart a little faster. The goal is to string together as many crossings as possible before a car catches you.
How many lives do I have crossing the road?
One. There are no spare lives and no timer. A single collision with a car in your current lane ends the run immediately with a Splat message showing your crossing count, so careful timing matters far more than raw speed.
Does the game get harder as I play?
Yes. Every completed crossing rebuilds all nine traffic lanes at a higher level, adding roughly 0.25 pixels per frame to each car's speed. Directions and car positions are re-randomized too, so no two rounds look the same and gaps close faster the deeper you get.
Which rows are safe to stand on?
Only the green row at the bottom, where you start, and the green goal row at the top. The nine rows between them all carry moving cars. A lane can be briefly clear between cars, but it never counts as a real resting spot.
Is my best crossing count saved?
Yes. Your highest crossing count is stored locally in your browser and shown as Best beside your current Crossings. It stays between sessions on the same device and browser, but it is not tied to an account or shared online, so clearing your browser data resets it.
