How to play Aim Trainer

Objective: Click as many red targets as you can in 30 seconds while keeping your accuracy high, and beat the best hit count saved in your browser.

One red circle appears somewhere on the square board. Click or tap it and it instantly vanishes and reappears at a new random spot. Each hit adds one to your Hits count, and the timer runs for a fixed 30 seconds from the moment you press Start. There are no lives, no levels, and no game over before the clock ends. When time expires the board shows Time! along with your final hits, accuracy percentage, and average reaction time in milliseconds.

Accuracy is the number you fight for alongside speed. Every click that lands on empty board space, not on the target, counts as a miss. Your accuracy is hits divided by hits plus misses, shown live as Acc at the top. Wild clicking to spray the board will tank that figure, so a run with 40 hits and 40 misses reads as 50 percent. Only presses inside the red circle score, so aim before you commit each click.

The target is always the same size, roughly 14 percent of the board width, and it never speeds up or shrinks. Difficulty comes entirely from how fast you can move and click, not from any ramp in the code. The circle spawns fully inside the edges, so it will never sit half off the board. The board uses a crosshair cursor and works with mouse or touch, since hits are registered on pointer down rather than a full click release.

Your average reaction time is measured from the instant each new target appears to the instant you press it, then averaged across all hits in the run. It only shows on the end screen. Best, shown in orange up top, is the highest hit count you have ever reached, stored locally in this browser under the key aim-trainer-best. It survives page reloads but does not sync between devices or browsers.

Tips and strategy

Guard your accuracy

Empty-space clicks are logged as misses and drag your Acc down permanently for the run. When you overshoot a target, do not panic-click again. Reset your cursor onto the new circle before pressing, since one clean hit beats two frantic misses.

Ride the pointer-down trigger

Hits register on pointer down, not on release, so you score the moment your button contacts the target. Press decisively instead of waiting to lift your finger or mouse button. On touch screens this means a firm tap counts instantly.

Watch the whole board

The next target spawns anywhere at least 7 percent from every edge, fully random with no pattern to memorize. Keep your eyes wide on the full square rather than fixating on the last spot, so you spot the new circle in the corners as fast as the center.

Chase your best hits

Best tracks total hits only, never accuracy or reaction time. To beat it you need volume, so once your aim is reliable, push your clicking pace hard in the final ten seconds when the score matters most for topping the saved record.

Reset the cursor between hits

Since each target respawns instantly on hit, a long cursor travel to the next circle wastes reaction time. Try to keep small, controlled movements and let your hand return toward center, cutting the average millisecond figure shown at the end.

Frequently asked questions

How long is one round?

Every round lasts exactly 30 seconds, counted down by the timer at the top of the board. The length is fixed in the code and does not change with your score or accuracy. When the clock hits zero the target disappears and the end screen appears with your final stats, then you can press Play Again.

Does the game get harder over time?

No. The target stays the same size for the whole run, about 14 percent of the board, and it never moves on its own or shrinks. There is no speed ramp coded in. The only thing that changes is how quickly you find and click each new circle, so all the difficulty comes from you.

What exactly counts as a miss?

A miss is any click or tap that lands on the board background instead of the red target. Each miss increases the miss total and lowers your accuracy, which is hits divided by hits plus misses. Clicks outside the board entirely do nothing, and there is no penalty beyond the accuracy hit.

How is my best hit count decided?

Best is the highest number of hits you have ever reached in a single run. It ignores accuracy and reaction time completely. It is saved in your browser's local storage, so it stays after you reload the page but will not appear on a different device, a different browser, or in private browsing.

What does the average ms number mean?

That is your average reaction time, measured from the moment each target appears to the moment you press it, then averaged over every hit in the run. It only shows on the end screen, not live during play. Lower is faster. A run with few hits can still post a strong average if each one was quick.
