Case Converter
Convert text to every standard case style — camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case, PascalCase, Title Case, and more.
About the Case Converter
Case Converter takes any text you paste and rewrites it into 15 naming styles at once, so you never have to retype a variable name or hand-fix capitalization. It solves the small but constant friction of moving a phrase between contexts: a database column wants snake_case, a React component wants PascalCase, a CSS class wants kebab-case, and a heading wants Title Case. You type the words once and read every conversion in a single list.
As you type in the Input box, the tool splits your text into words. It inserts breaks at camelCase boundaries and treats underscores, hyphens, dots, slashes, and backslashes as separators, so mixed input like getUserID or user-name still parses correctly. Each style then rejoins those words with its own casing and connector. Four styles (UPPERCASE, lowercase, iNVERT cASE, and aLtErNaTiNg) skip the word split and transform your text character by character, keeping spacing intact.
Every case transformation runs in the page as you type, so it is free and needs no signup. Nothing you type is uploaded; the conversions happen in local JavaScript as you edit, so there is no network round trip and no server logging. That makes it safe for internal field names, draft copy, or anything you would rather not paste into a remote service. Click any result row to copy that line to your clipboard, and a green check confirms the copy for just over a second.
How to use the Case Converter
- 1Type or paste your text into the Input textarea near the top of the page.
- 2Read the 15 converted styles listed below, each labeled on the left with the exact output on the right.
- 3Click any result row to copy that single conversion to your clipboard.
- 4Watch for the green check mark, which confirms the copy succeeded before it fades.
- 5Press Clear to empty the Input box and start over with new text.
What you can use it for
Renaming across a codebase
You have an API field called shippingAddress and need it as shipping_address for the database and shipping-address for the query string. Paste it once, then copy the snake_case and kebab-case rows instead of retyping and risking a typo in each spot.
Cleaning up pasted headings
A document heading arrives in ALL CAPS or with random capitalization. Drop it in and copy the Title Case or Sentence case row to get consistent, readable text for a blog post, slide, or navigation label without editing letters by hand.
Generating constant names
You are defining config keys and want max retry count as MAX_RETRY_COUNT. Type the plain words and copy the SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE row, which uppercases every word and joins them with underscores, ready to paste into an enum or environment variable.
Matching a style guide
A component library requires PascalCase file names and kebab-case CSS classes for the same feature. Enter the feature name once and copy both rows, keeping the two conventions in sync instead of translating between them in your head.
Frequently asked questions
Does my text get sent to a server when I change its case?
No. Every conversion runs in your browser using local JavaScript, and the results update as you type. Your text is never uploaded, stored, or logged anywhere. This means you can safely paste internal variable names, unreleased copy, or private notes without exposing them to any external service.
Which case styles are supported?
Fifteen: camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE, kebab-case, Train-Case, COBOL-CASE, dot.case, path/case, Title Case, Sentence case, UPPERCASE, lowercase, iNVERT cASE, and aLtErNaTiNg. Each appears on its own row with a label on the left and the converted output on the right, all updating live.
How does it decide where words begin?
It inserts a break between a lowercase or digit and an uppercase letter, so camelCase and getUserID split correctly. It also treats underscores, hyphens, dots, forward slashes, and backslashes as separators. That lets you feed in mixed input like user_name-v2 and still get clean word boundaries for every style.
Why do UPPERCASE and aLtErNaTiNg keep my spaces?
Those four styles, along with lowercase and iNVERT cASE, transform your text character by character rather than splitting it into words. They preserve your original spacing and punctuation exactly. The other eleven styles rebuild the text from parsed words, so extra spaces and separators get normalized away.
How do I copy a result?
Click anywhere on a result row. That copies just that one line to your clipboard using the browser clipboard, and the icon on the right turns into a green check for about a second to confirm. There is no separate copy button; the whole row is clickable.
What happens with an empty input?
If the Input box is empty, or contains only separator characters with no actual words, the word-based rows show a dash placeholder instead of output. Type any letters or digits and the conversions fill in immediately. Pressing Clear empties the box and returns every row to that dash state.
