Midjourney
The artist. Creates the most beautiful AI images, period.
Essential Parameters
- •--ar 16:9 or --ar 3:2 -- set aspect ratio
- •--v 6.1 -- use the latest model version
- •--style raw -- less Midjourney 'prettification', more literal
- •--stylize 50 to 1000 -- how much artistic interpretation (default 100)
- •--chaos 0 to 100 -- variety between generations (default 0)
- •--no [thing] -- exclude something from the image
- •--q 2 -- higher quality (costs more)
- •--seed [number] -- reproduce a similar result
Prompt Structure That Works
- •[Subject], [Action/Pose], [Environment], [Lighting], [Style], [Camera/Lens]
- •Example: A librarian reading, candlelit medieval library, warm golden light, oil painting style, close-up portrait
- •Put the most important elements first -- Midjourney weights the beginning of prompts more
- •Use specific artist names or art movements for style: 'in the style of Studio Ghibli'
- •Add camera terms for photorealism: '85mm lens, f/1.4, bokeh background'
Hidden Features
- •Image prompts -- paste an image URL at the start of your prompt to use it as reference
- •Blend -- /blend combines 2-5 images into something new
- •Pan -- extend an image in any direction after generation
- •Zoom out -- expand the scene beyond the original frame
- •Vary (Region) -- regenerate just one part of an image
- •Style Tuner -- create a personalized style code from example images

Pro Tips
Front-Load Your Prompt
Midjourney pays most attention to the first few words. Put your subject first, details after.
Use --style raw for Realism
Default Midjourney adds artistic flourish to everything. --style raw gives you more literal, photographic results.
Iterate with Variations
Use the V1-V4 buttons to create variations of your favorite generation. This is faster than rewriting prompts.
Save Seeds
When you get a result you love, react with the envelope emoji to get the seed number. Use --seed [number] to create similar images with different prompts.
